The Art of Healing

"Healing" has been the focal point of Dan's House of Hope (DHOH) since its inception, whether through our home-away-from-home services, our psycho-social programming, or the community we continually strive to connect and support.

Please join us for an incredibly special evening dedicated to reflecting upon the story of Dan's House of Hope over the past 15 years, the accomplishments and impacts DHOH has brought to the Adolescent and Young Adult cancer world, and to recognizing some of the countless incredible individuals who have played a vital role in the success of our mission and to offering a desperately-needed glimmer of Hope to young adults facing a fight against cancer.

FEATURED SPEAKER
Our highlight speaker for the evening will be an individual with vast experience in helping her teams, boards, and clients navigate the challenges of life. A native of Houston, her last name ought to be familiar to all who currently reside in the city partially due to her family's political roles, and largely because of her own contributions and influences throughout the counseling and mental wellness worlds. As an entrepreneur and business-owner with a current practice successfully resounding throughout the greater Houston Metro, her dedicated passion for helping others heal in order to rediscover hope and purpose was initially galvanized by her own personal battles in her childhood. We are thrilled to announce that renowned counselor and therapist Sarah Whitmire will be joining our "Anniver-soirée" evening and sharing her invaluable insight into the countless beneficial connections between the arts and the process of healing.

As we gather at "The Art of Healing" to celebrate and reflect upon the past 15 years, we also eagerly look ahead to the future in hopes that one day cancer WILL be history. We are immeasurably excited to present a speaker possessing the sagacious mastery to share some of the medical world's most innovative recent updates in the fight against cancer: Executive Director of the MDACC Network, MDACC’s - Department of Leukemia - Inaugural Director of BPDCN Program, Associate Professor in the Department of Leukemia, active member of the ASH Communications Committee, and so much more - Dr. Naveen Pemmaraju.
