Please consider making a tax deductible donation to support this year's 4th Annual Hope Run for Young Adult Cancer Fighters! The event is being held on Saturday, October 26th at 0830 in Houston, Texas. I will be participating in this year's run and would greatly appreciate your support. :)

Dan's House of Hope (DHOH) helps young adult cancer fighters heal through community, supportive programming and home away from home services that reduce isolation, decrease financial burdens and nourish hope.

Dan’s House offers the warmth and comfort of home in bed and breakfast-style accommodations. AYAs and caregivers are not charged a fee to stay at DHOH.

DHOH’s hospitality house is an inviting refuge for AYAs to gather— a place to heal, dream, share, learn and laugh. It is a place to ease isolation and recapture a sense of normalcy for cancer fighters and caregivers.

Dan’s House of Hope is more than “a place to stay.” DHOH is an engaged and caring community of local, national and global cancer fighters, survivors, caregivers, volunteers, healthcare professionals, AYA advocates, and generous supporters.

Psychosocial and support programming assist patient guests and caregivers with the unique challenges each face. Interactive programs—on and off-site, offered free of charge, including both casual and facilitated support groups; restorative yoga classes; individualized yoga therapy sessions; group outings to sporting, art and music events in Houston; spiritual care offerings; and movie and game nights at DHOH’s house.

But that’s not all! Video conferencing platforms enable multiple opportunities to stay connected with DHOH’s community each month, providing needed continuing support for cancer fighters where ever they are.

As most of you know, I lived in the Houston area for two years to help get DHOH up and running. After seeing it first hand, the daily impact that is being made in the lives of young adults fighting cancer is truly remarkable. DHOH is so much more than just a house. It allows those who are fighting cancer, as well as the caregivers a sense of normalcy, the ability to connect with those who can relate to them, support groups, yoga sessions, community sporting events, movie nights, game nights and so much more! This is a cause that is extremely near and dear to my heart and would greatly appreciate your support.
